Xactimate®  Level 3

Summary: This course is the advanced level of Xactimate for desktop and online platforms. Students are instructed through hands-on training on advanced concepts, tools, skills, and best practices for estimating complex large-loss claims. This course also prepares students for the Xactimate Level 3 Certification Exam.

Skills Covered: This course covers the following:

Chap1- Utilizing the advanced Parameters Add-on features: Salvage, Labor Burden, Sales Tax, Additional Charges, Advanced Payments, Tags, Market Conditions, Depreciation Options.

Chap 2- Utilizing more Sketch features: Importing Underlay Image, Copy from Underlay; changing the room shape, sketching complex staircases, using the Wall Tool to build rooms, creating rooms below stairs, stacking objects in Sketch, understanding advanced variables.

Chap 3- Utilizing advanced Estimate Item features, understanding advanced Grouping Pane features, adding code upgrades, creating and viewing Item Scenarios; practicing large interior estimates.

Chap 4- Sketching a complex roof, sketching roofs on multiple levels, creating bay and fan roofs, learning Roof Level variables, sketching with the Manual Roof Tool.

Chap 5- Utilizing wall and footing construction features, activating framing views in 2D and 3D, utilizing staircase and roof construction features; practicing total loss construction estimate.

Chap 6- Generating exterior walls, drawing exterior elevations, learning exterior level variables, scoping using the Graphical Estimation method; writing exterior loss practice estimates.

Chap 7- Sketching decks, railings, and fences; identifying differences in construction properties between floors, walls, staircases, decks, and fences.

Requirements: Students must have Xactimate installed and running on their PC laptop PRIOR to the first day of class (see Xactimate system requirements here and free Xactimate 30-day demos here). Proficient use of a personal computer is highly recommended, including familiarity with the Microsoft Windows operating system and common productivity software apps such as word processors, spreadsheets, and emails. Users must know how to use browsers, download, save, rename files, create folders and print documents, connect to the Internet, access technical support, and type at least 20-25 words/min.

What to expect from this course.

Students who complete this course will increase their Xactimate knowledge, skills, and productivity for estimating complex large-loss claims. They will also have the necessary tools to prepare for the Xactimate Level 3 Certification Exam.

The Exam Prep Level 3 course prepares you for the Xactimate Level 3 Certification exam. It focuses primarily on sketch & scope examples, similar in difficulty to what you can expect on the exam.
