Chap 3– The Estimate Items Window: Direct Entry; searching for line items; suing Miscellaneous Line Items; Sub-variables and Calculations; calculating waste; applying Coverage Types; applying Depreciation options; Global Changes option.

Chap 4– The Complete Window: understanding the Estimate Items status; correcting Inspection results; Interior Practice Estimates A-C.

Chap 5– Graphical Estimation: adding line-items to a room; using the Floor Covering tools; adding roof line-items in Graphical Estimation; Medium Interior Practice Estimates A-C.

Chap 6– Sketching a Medium-loss Roof: identifying additional roof properties; adding multi-sloped roof faces; creating commercial roof shapes, roof variables; waste calculation for shingles; Medium Roof Practice Estimates A-E.

Requirements: Students are required to have Xactimate installed and running on their PC laptop PRIOR to the first day of class (see Xactimate system requirements here and free Xactimate 30-day demos here). Proficient use of a personal computer is highly recommended, including familiarity with the Microsoft Windows operating system and common productivity software apps such as word processors, spreadsheets, and emails. Users must know how to use browsers, download, save, rename files, and create folders, as well as print documents, connect to the Internet, access technical support, and type at least 20-25 words/min.
