Exam Prep Level 3

Prerequisite: Xactimate Level 3

Summary: This course prepares candidates for the Xactimate Level 3 Certification exam. It correlates with the advanced level of Xactimate for desktop and online platforms. It does not teach concepts, tools, skills, and best practices. Those are covered in the Xactimate Level 3 course.

In this course, we do a deep dive into the Practical exam section by sketching and scoping two large-loss estimates, one an interior and the other a roof. They are then used to answer questions in the Practical exam section.

We also do a high-level overview of the Knowledge exam section by reviewing the concepts and objectives covered in the Xactimate Level 3 workbook. They are used to answer questions in the Knowledge exam section.

The Practical and Knowledge exam sections are graded separately. However, a combined score of 70% is required to pass this open-book, open-Xactimate exam.

Skills Covered: Skills covered in this course include the following:

  • Accurately follow instructions and detailed tasks
  • Create and name a new project; install a price list; set default dimensions for doors, windows, and missing walls
  • Sketch and scope large loss interior and roof projects from given diagrams and line items
  • Make corrections to category codes, selector codes, activities, and calculation fields as needed
  • Run the Inspection tool to check for errors and correct any violations from the audit
  • Print reports as instructed
  • Save to use the estimates to answer questions on the Practical exam module.

Requirements: Candidates are required to have Xactimate installed and running on their PC laptop PRIOR to the first day of class (see Xactimate system requirements here and free Xactimate 30-day demos here). Proficient use of a personal computer is highly recommended, including familiarity with the Microsoft Windows operating system and common productivity software apps such as word processors, spreadsheets, and emails. Users must know how to use browsers, download, save, rename files, and create folders, as well as print documents, connect to the Internet, access technical support, and type at least 20-25 words/min.

What to expect from this course.

Students who complete this training, do the exercises, and score well above the required 70% on the workbook practice exam, typically do well on the certification exam .
